If the sound is too dry, Reverb might help too.

Hey Gale, i bet you rolled your eyes when you saw this issue again :P. Your suggestion worked, chosing Windows DirectSound didn't help but WASAPI did, my balance setting is maintained. I don't know if there are disadvantages to using this setting, i'll see what it's like later if i decide ...

If that does not help you can open Windows Device Manager and see if there is a previous set of drivers you can roll back to. Otherwise try going back to Audacity 2.0.2: ...

... out, but when Audacity is launched it is reset. I use Windows 7 64bit, i've tried Audacity versions 2.1.1 and 2.1.0. Thank you in advance for any help.

Fixing sound like a biscuit tin

... do I make it sound normal? I have tried with the amplify function and this has made it louder (naturally!) and the bass and treble function didn't help much either. Any ideas for the layman please?

... no latency or anything. But when I play it back it's out of time. I've tried the click track latency test but it still doesn't work :( Can anyone help please? Thanks, Ryan.

Distorted sound while recording

... Hz, 16 bit I also have to turn my speakers up quite a bit in order to hear the sound, which as I said, is distorted. I hope someone can help me with this (please!!) as I have been fighting this for the last few days and it is driving me crazy!
