A quicker method to make it louder is to apply Audacity's limiter (repeatedly). A Limiter won't remove the clicks though , but the processing-time is much shorter by omitting DeClick. I always change the Solo button behaviour to "Simple", disable the automatic Metadata pop-up, and increase the preview length.
Sorry, I can't help with that (I don't see that issue on Linux). Perhaps worth raising that as a new topic on the Mac OS X board.cyrano wrote:Core Audio needed to adjust?

... So my best bet is to get my noise floor lower somehow. Maybe there is some other place in the house I haven't tried yet. I appreciate all the help and I may post another test to see if I can improve things. Thanks again! PJ

Audacity will not start
I get this error notice -" error when opening sound device please check recording device settings and project sample rate"
what does this mean and what do I do. I have deleted and re-installed Audacity but get the same message. Can anyone help me please.

...I can at least make the recordings work together passably ... There's still one other parameter between the recordings which doesn't match : the stereo-image. Help/About Audacity... I think would be perfect to show a tab that shows new changes. Again it relies on users realising that information can be accessed from the Help Menu. Context-sensitive help would be more efficient. ...
