... that computers with both optical and analog audio use separate pathways to process sound, and the APIs don't address that very well. ffmpeg can help with that but it is a rather complex piece of software and configuring it isn't for the faint of heart. I can't say that audacity stopped working ...

I think the promlem was Cortana. She was always listining.I think my wife fixed it because it's working now.She is the computer tec in the house.I just wanted to try to fix it on my owne and not bug her.Thanks for trying to help me out.
