I have a video that I'm trying to get audio from as I'm trying to see if there is a evp in this video my question is how do i do that? every time i have imported it, it's nothing but white noise PLEASE HELP!!

I am Running Audacity 2.0.6 on my Windows Vista PC and all is well excpet that all of a sudden I am getting and echo/repeat as I record from a cassette machine. This happens on both tracks. How do I stop this on the settings please?

Okay so there is absolutely no way I can fix this? You could try the "Clip Fix" effect. That effect tries to reconstruct the peaks that have been clipped off the waveform. Clip Fix can work reasonably well if there is only a small amount of clipping, but I'd guess that your badly clipped ...

Your recording level is too high. Turn down the recording level so that the maximum peaks do not touch the top/bottom of the track. Allow a bit of "headroom" and aim for a peak level of about -6 dB (half the track height) - that's about the middle of the yellow section of the recording met...
