Audacity 2.1.1.exe
I have a 50+ minute MP3 file that I imported to Audacity. When I play it in Audacity, it plays a loud screeching sound in about 10 seconds. Please help. I've never used Audacity before.

... and Soundbaster as well were mentioned under Audacity. I disabled the Creativ one and now it works perfect. I am very, very thankfull for your help and spending time. I also learned a lot of my computer because I 'm not a nerd... Kind Greatings. Paul

A flat line in a recording just shows that the recording level is very quiet or completely silent. Selecting the region of "flat line" and applying the Amplify effect will reveal whether the section was "low level" or "absolute silence". "Absolute silence" can...

Thats fine ,
one last thing for abit of advise if you see a flat line in a call recording could this mean it has been edited, and a responce put in the call to change conversation.

... I did see that info in another thread, I had deleted that .cfg file as part of my attempt to get the new version running, but that did not help. The problem as described above is believed fixed in our source code so should not be a problem in the next 2.1.2 release. It was a problem of ...

Thank you for all the help! I put the Tape2USB on a board to keep it flat and level, and then I replaced the cable. It greatly improved the recording! Yea! I'd like to know what the patches were - it did sound better. I'm so glad this forum exists and you are looking at the questions! Thanks again!

Sorry Rocks, I'm happy to help you to use Audacity, but I'm really not into this cloak and dagger stuff. If this is a professional matter, you need to get help from a suitably qualified professional. If it's more of a personal matter, then you might be better just to ask the person in question.
