command to find loudest sample in selection, possible?
... so that I can erase everything before of after it without having to zoom a thousand times in both vertical and horizontal direction. Can anyone help me creating a Nyquist command for this? it would make my day : )

Thanks for your advice Koz, I'll stick with 2 computers and will buy the Behringer UCA202 for recording.

We can't help with almost no information to go on. What version of Windows and Audacity? See the pink panel at the top of the page. Make and model number of the headset? Have you tried a different USB port? What are you doing ...

I use a Behringer UCA202 stereo to USB adapter. I have two. The UCA202 also has a headphone connection and is certified for perfect overdubbing. I used the "Line in" port, not the mic, I'm not sure if it makes any difference.

Stop using your computer's pink Mic-In connection?
