Just out of curiosity, I put towels across the desk, put the mic stand on the towels, and draped a lens cleaning cloth over the mic set myself a comfortable position in front of the mic, one that I can be comfortable at for a period of time, and tried a recording. Presto bumpo - nice stats in the AC...
