Re: Need a little help with setting up a Chain
There's nothing personal about it. DPA doesn't even make LDC's. It's a physical/technical fact. It's a bit of a reaction against the commercial statement that LDC's are "the best" for voice recording. Technically, they will always be a little bit inferior. http://www.dpamicrophones.com/ac...

Re: Need a little help with setting up a Chain
I'm guessing that cyrano means "small diaphragm condenser microphone" and "large diaphragm condenser microphone". Yes, indeed. Note that cyrano is only stating his personal preference and that the comment "Less white noise, higher output and less room problems, imho" i...

Re: Need a little help with setting up a Chain
... going to work perfectly. Sound recording systems are more complicated than they seem and success can stay just ahead of you. Particularly when the help is over multiple time zones. If you were closer to success with your original system, that may be the way to go until you get "The Big Studio" ...

Re: Need a little help with setting up a Chain
There is another possibility. Some of these things, simple as they are, come with software drivers and packages. Check for that. We recently ran into problems where simple USB microphones were not rated for Windows 10. Yes, it is a lot like: "I'm sorry, this pencil is not rated for that paper.&...

Re: Need a little help with setting up a Chain

That puts you in deficit even before you open your mouth. With either...

Re: Need a little help with setting up a Chain
I need to come back to this. My internet connection went on a nice holiday, so I'm catching up. It was even more entertaining than that. I went to a breakfast cafe thinking I was going to connect from there and theirs was down, too. Turns out a chunk of Los Angeles went dark for many hours.

Re: I need help with Noise Reduction Please! Like ASAP! Than
If that really is a 78 record, you should be playing it with a 78 stylus. That will eliminate tons of noise and distortion with no software corrections at all. You should also be playing it at 78 if you're not doing that. There are desperation methods where you play at 78 at Some Other Speed and wit...
