Solved the problem. It was saving to my computer as a .pdf. There was a setting in abobe that I needed to change to tell it to open as wav. My computer did not recognize it automatically. It now opens in Windows Media player so it should be no problem to work with in Windows. Thanks for all the help.

Mods: My responses have not yet been approved and I am unable to wait so please excuse :) I have got some additional information. So I was sent a test file and I could hear it from separate speakers within my computer. In order words, I was able to hear what they said coming from only the left speak...

Saving Files? [SOLVED]
... File Export and the default setting of the 16 bit PCM - but all I see saved is a pdf file. I also tried to use the add track, stereo as one of the help pages said that would for the file to be exported as a WAV. Am I missing some step or command in the save process? Thanks

I loaded the original file (mp3 format) and then duplicate the file. OK. Stop. Was it Mono? One line of blue waves when you opened it? I'm not clear on the specifications, either. It appears at first pass they want a stereo show with exactly the same thing on both sides. But that's what they compla...

A couple of things I don't understand.... Is the original MP3 file mono or stereo? Is there only one file, or two mono files? Dual monaural in stereo WAV file I'm not sure I understand what that means... Do they want the same thing on the left & right? (That's how "mono" audio CDs are ...

Thank you for your help! It worked like a charm! The only thing that comes up now is "Stereo Mix" on the recording devices and that works perfect for what I need! Thanks again!

It seems that guest account can save data, but not by default. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/CustomizeGuestSession If we are going to do this thoroughly it may be an idea for Audacity to warn about saving in the Guest's documents on those systems. I don't ...
