Re: Audacity Crash on Startup Mint 17.3/Ubu 14.04

... that could explain why Audacity won't launch and devices won't work. What you are using instead - OSS? Perhaps the Ubuntu or Linux Mint forums can help you with how to set up audio on your machine. If you do wish to test with Audacity, I still recommend the 2.1.2 PPA. The other versions you mentioned ...

Re: Recovering AU-files

Assuming you can read the temp folder (look at Help > Show Log...) then the AU files would indeed appear to be silence.

Re: Couple Of Questions On Recording and Editing

Re: Can I reduce mp3 file size?

Thank you for all the help. Im getting the hang of it now. :)

Just one more question. When exporting podcasts to MP3 (after recording at 44100 Hz) is there any advantage compressing the Hz rate to 22050 Hz?

Window 8.1 Recording from Scarlet Solo... multi input help

I recently got a Scarlet Solo, which has a min input specified as the 1 input, and a line input specified as the 2. I was wondering if you could help me find a way to record from the second one, as currently it only records from the mic input.

Re: Help for us broadcast editors that have to hit a show cl

Re: Help for us broadcast editors that have to hit a show cl

The suggestion in the question is that the show consists of multiple tracks or segments I see no mention of that, but yes, that is a common way of working and is one of the reasons why the requested tool is very unlikely to ever be a standard feature in Audacity. If working on multiple tracks and /...

Re: Help for us broadcast editors that have to hit a show cl

The suggestion in the question is that the show consists of multiple tracks or segments and it's rough keeping up with the total length of all the tracks destined to be smashed into one long presentation at the end. That's why "length" doesn't work? It's only good for one track? Just so we...
