... request from jengelh has merge conflicts with the current audacity/audacity code, but if you can confirm that jengelh's fix works, then that may help to get the fix committed.

Please tell us what version of Audacity you are using (all three numbers, see the pink panel at the top of the page). What must I do to effectively mute the click track or remove it altogether after finishing a beat? I had a good answer already worked up and then I looked up what an SPD SX was. ... setting up timed recordings. Simply recording without pre-defined stop points or track lengths works fine too. At this point, I'm just trying to help trace an apparent problem with Timer Record in 2.1.2 by trying out various suggestions from Gale. The laptop is working fine.

... at the same time (a 40minute recording took about 30 seconds each to import). This may not have been the solution you were looking for but it will help me while we hammer out the real problem/solution.
