I'm narrating my own book, and audio.com says that the uploaded file must measure between -23dB and -18dB RMS. I have no idea what this means or how to find out if the file I'm creating meets this standard. Please help.

Do you mean the LADSPA "Hard Limiter" plug-in? Which version of Audacity are you using? (look in "Help > About Audacity") Which version of Windows? If you are using a recent version of Audacity, there is a new Limiter effect included that generally gives better ...

Hard Limiter doesnt work. Error plugin dll

Hi, i have this error with Hard Limiter.

cant use Hard Limiter on any track.

07:38:16: Error: Failed to load shared library 'C:\Program Files\Audacity\plug-ins\hard_limiter_1413.dll' (error 126: no se puede encontrar el módulo especificado.)

please help me fix it.

If you have "Y" jack cable, try to record as you did, but with the headphones attached too. Due to the higher impedance of the input, the recording shows static and noise. If you put headphones in parallel, this could go away. And maybe the input is a microphone input, in which case it is ...

Please post a short sample (just 4 or 5 seconds) in WAV format to the forum. The sample should be the raw recording with no additional processing at all. Just "record, select, export selection". See here for details about posting an audio sample: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php...
