Re: Not able to record in Mono. Please Help.
Remember I asked you up the thread: it does sound OK, right? If it does, stick with what works. Audacity has plugin tools to analyze voice for AudioBook reading based on ACX specifications. http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Analyze_Plug-ins#ACX_Check It should be possible to read a passage, ...

Re: Not able to record in Mono. Please Help.
Thanks for the quick response everyone. This all makes a little sense now. My goal was just to do voice over work, so nothing too crazy. Is there a reasonable mixer/interface you would reccomend for the mono recording? Or would I be just fine deleting the unused stereo track or copying the recorded ...

Re: OT but I need help in cutting long interviews
Thanks DVD. I am coming to the conclusion that some notes on paper are needed. I have a list of about a dozen questions I am asking these folk (hence the hour of each session). The next time I'll mark my copy of the list with the time each question gets asked and any keywords of unexpected responses...

Re: Not able to record in Mono. Please Help.
Because the Alpha will not supply Phantom Power. Cool. Just not to wander too far off too quickly, it does sound OK, right? Here it is. According to the knobs on the front, this "stereo" device (I don't think they ever call it that, right?) is actually aggressively two channel . Instrument...

Not able to record in Mono. Please Help.
Hello all. I am new to the forum and new to recording. I have a condenser mic plugged into a phantom power via XLR, that is then connected to the mic input on my lexicon alpha via XLR, that is then ran to the USB port in my PC via FireWire. My issue is that I am able to record in audacity in the ste...

... samples in Audacity. Nyquist has an "integrate" function: http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~rbd/doc/nyquist/part8.html#index375 If you want some help with that, just ask. Well - unless I find a way to simulate high pass filter in large data samples in Calc. which of course is very easy to do ...

... are missing. But it would not have made any difference because the files were (presumably) deleted by the Mac. Gale Thank you so much for your help! That is super annoying. Thankfully I had time to rerecord (although grudgingly) today.

Re: OT but I need help in cutting long interviews
... The software communities keep stridently insisting it works just fine because it's cheap, inexpensive and doesn't cost anything. No troublesome Help Desk. Sorry. Doesn't work like that. In the consumer world, somebody posts for fifteen seconds, gets an answer and we never see them again. In ...
