A common problem with YouTube tutorials for Audacity is that they rarely tell you which version of Audacity they are using, and usually it's an old/obsolete version. That video is using an old version that does not have the "Manage" button that is now common to all built-in effects (http:/...

... frozen does nothing. Always have to close the window from the error message and hope Audacity recovers the project next time it's launched. Any help? Ubuntu STudio 16.04

The distortion is only on the left channel. Discard it , and only use the right channel.
i.e. split stereo track to two mono tracks , then delete the upper (left) track ...

This is not editing/editorial. This is disaster recovery and I've never heard that distortion before.

... It's as if the signal stops with the pre-amp...how do I get Audacity or my mac to read this mic and equipment? I'm extremely frustrated, so any help would be great! Thanks!

I am new to audio editing and to improve my skills, decided to volunteer to edit for someone. However, this is a problem I have never encountered before in my audio. Can anyone tell me what's wrong?

... hint in log files that they aren't doing anything, but no warnings that I've seen. I haven't studied it systematically. The avidemux forum was no help. I'd benefit from better advice or a better system, frankly. It seems like everyone sets audio levels too low and many of them need to be boosted.
