I am trying to cut a 30-second portion out of the middle of a song, but when I do I get what sounds like a tiny skip where the deleted part was -- how can I fix this?

... when i can't hear myself. my mic input in audacity is as high as it can go and for what it's worth the output (speaker) is about 75-80%. does this help? i hope so. thanks!
