I have no reason to suspect my audio driver since audio is otherwise working properly. I wish I could see what was causing the conflict. :( Right now, my "work-around" is to run Audacity from a VM ("Windows 10" using "VM Player"). Technically, Audacity is still running...

Hi Gale and thanks for the response. Evidently I still don't get it. When I click on device, recording my only choices are Microsoft Sound Mapper-input and Microphone (Realtek.) I don't see anything listed as a device toolbar? Thanks again for your help.
