... find that installing PulseAudio volume control (pavucontrol) and/or uninstalling Audacity 2.0.5 and installing the 2.1.2 Ubuntu Handbook PPA may help behaviour a little: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuhandbook1/+archive/ubuntu/audacity . Gale

Okay, I performed your steps with my Chapter 1 and passed the ACX check. Now I am wrestling with Chapter 2. Attaching a screenshot. Looks to me like the overall volume is low, and the reading is too dynamic (since I have at least one loud peak). Am I reading the tea leaves correctly? If so, will som...
