Yes I did.

Skimming through some of the other posts about osx sierra, I will try the suggested terminal command in case there is a problem with the installation.

Yes, post an edit or cut performance without any effects or filters. That's more representative of what you'd be doing in an everyday process. Your results are perfectly ordinary.
