Thanks Gale. I have been able to effect the change I wanted using the time track, although I think my original suggestion for the interface would make it a LOT easier and quicker.

The only other suggestion to avoid the artifact noise would be changing the audio driver (software) for your version of Windows : either updating to the latest version , or rolling back an (automatic) driver update to an older version , (and stopping it automatically updating). I installed ffmpeg. Did not help with Chordino. I also installed the avformat-55.dll file. That didn't help either.

I neglected to include the log, so it's attached here. I'll try deleting the cfg file again.
