... been the interface host - I changed it from MME to Windows DirectSound and that seems to have done the trick! Thanks for responding to my plea for help :-) Cheers

Do you still regard that code as alpha/pre-alpha from your now more experienced perspective? "Proof of concept" would be a good description. Clipfix.ny itself could do with being rewritten to be easier to read and maintain, but it works, so that's not very high priority. It's just not a g...

... noise measurements for no apparent reason. We can tell which you have when you post. It's important to post a raw, uncorrected performance. Don't help and don't apply effects or filters. Koz

... have tried uninstalling and reinstalling everything, selected 'reset preferences', but still cannot get the open file window to remain open. Need help please, as I have a lot of work to do for the play that I am currently designing sound for!

These are both MP3 downloads, right? Try importing both songs, select one by clicking just above MUTE, and Effect > Invert. Even if it doesn't help, we'd be interested what happens. And also, why would you want this? The question stopped just short of writing the goal. "I need this to work ...
