The build instructions for Linux say that Audacity can be built with ffmpeg up to the latest ffmpeg 3.3 and describes what to put in the ./configure command line and how to link with the system ffmpeg libraries. Audacity reducing WAV file size when exported

... contacted Action!'s support team and am currently awaiting a response. I've already asked on one other forum but the person who responded couldn't help, I can try a few others but I'm not super hopeful. I have some audio clips sitting on my desktop and I'll upload them when I have a chance.
