If you are still getting the same error message, delete that entire line - there are invalid characters in the "Artist" field of the id3 tags of the Sounddogs file that you have imported.

Re: Error opening project.Not well formed invalid token at l

The error is here:

Code: Select all

<tag name="ARTIST" value="ÀhÌload Sound Effects - SoundDogs - Coll Anderson Sound EFX _SDC"/>
Change it in a text editor to something like:

Code: Select all

<tag name="ARTIST" value="load Sound Effects - SoundDogs - Coll Anderson Sound EFX _SDC"/>

Error in Recovering Project

My laptop battery died while recording. I rebooted and started Audacity, was relieved to see the message that the project could be recovered, however, when I try to recover the project, I get the message Error; Not well formed (invalid token) at line 2474. Can anyone help?

Thanks!

Re: Error: not well-informed (invalid token) at line 8

Text Edit will not actually show you that evil character, but it's usually buried in some text that you personally entered, like a label, or a song title or something like that. Yes, it is possible that the evil character will not show up in TextEdit. In that case delete everything between and incl...
