Have you got set in your preferences: "Software Playthrough" and " Play other tracks while recording new one" - if so, uncheck them.

Intermittent echo in track...only on some .aup files

... microphone. Also, in "Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O" make sure that "software playthrough" is NOT selected. Don't record in the bathroom, caves, tunnels or similar environments.

... unsure if this actually fixes this issue. Software playthrough will ALWAYS cause a delay (hence the echo) and there is no way round that other than switching it off ...

Awesome! Thanks for the swift reply. It really works. I de-selected 'software playthrough:play new track while recording it' and the echo disappeared. I found it on audio preferences. Thanks again.
