Where do "Chains" export?
Audacity 2.2.2 on a windows 7 laptop, new to Audacity, trying to assemble tracks with voice overs for a radio show. Tried chain, mp3 conversion. It seems to have processed but I can't find the output file. Would it be in the export directory? Can't find any files even using advanced search in Window...

Re: How to search for files
Certainly can.agua wrote:Can you add my vote to this preference feature. It would be great and much more secure to be able to save or export an audio file to the directory it came from at open or import time rather than to the last export directory used.
Done.

Re: How to search for files
Audacity remembers where it imported from but it does not open the Export dialogue at that location, only at the last directory it exported to. A workaround would be to put all the files you want to import in the same folder. If you want, we can add your vote for a preference to export to the direc...

Re: IPersistFile Save Failed:: Code 0x80070002
This is not an Audacity error message. The error code indicates that Windows is unable to find the file specified, and it usually associated with either a Windows update or Windows backup. There are many reasons why the problem can occur, including disk failure, a disk being mounted incorrectly, inc...

Re: How to record to external device?
They covered their bases by selling you a conventional 3.5mm stereo cable and two 2.5mm adapters. So you are totally covered. This isn't as crazy as you think. The adapters are 3.5mm stereo to 2.5mm mono. plus the cost of the regular stereo cable (about $5 usd). I don't remember where I got mine fro...

Re: How to select between labels?
Forgive me if I am not understanding the suggestions here but is it possible to define two separate labels and then somehow quickly select exactly all of the track between them? (I believe this is what the OP asked about.) Reasons for doing it this way: 1) Extending a single region from the start po...

Re: Configure Error: "dlopen not found" / Ubutntu 16.04
I don't think the OP's problem actually has anything to do with system configuration or installed libraries. The problem is that the "configure" command given on the "download source" page has been mangled to feature "smart" quotes. The Linux command line does not under...

Re: How to record to external device?
Olympus WS-832. Cool. I have two. Hold on to them with white knuckles. Yep, it's an amazing model; so many nifty features. I actually didn't realise how good of a device it was until months after I bought it. Was a bit tricky to get used to initially, but the more I used it, the more I appreciated ...

Re: How to record to external device?
Olympus WS-832. Cool. I have two. Hold on to them with white knuckles. If you search for that model number now, they push you off to a different model that's much simpler (no more cool tricks) and doesn't have WAV support. Such as giving the ability to add index marks. Audacity will do that on the ...

New user - cannot record from "stereo Mix"
Audacity works beautifully on mp3 files and CDs. But when I attempt to record from an internal feed (ie Stereo Mix) on my computer (internet radio), I get only about one second of sound, then endless repetitions, often decreasing over time in volume. Like an echo or a loop. I know these functions ex...
