Re: How to get ACX specs for audiobook
I'm responding to my own question, in case someone is following this thread and is in need of the same information. I decided to pay a professional sound guy for consultation. I explained to him that I have already acoustically treated my recording space. This is what he told me: To get my files to:...

Re: RMS Normalize seems to undo everything else
Okay, I have to level with you here. I might go to -6db for this. But. M'kay, so. I don't wear socks. As a matter of fact, I will go *days in a row* without wearing shoes. Not even my fox slippers the other half got me to encourage me to, well, wear shoes. There are FANTASTIC perks to working at hom...

Re: How to apply chain to files in all subforms?
looks like Windows File Explorer has a search in the upper right of that window. You can search any folder and subfolder using wildcards, such as *.mpe. And it will open a new window with all the file names listed. From which you can copy those files to a new folder (thus it puts all the .mp3 files...

Re: ACX Check not working
Kristina, did you ever get to use the ACX check? I'm in the same situation. I'm in the middle of my first audiobook and cannot figure out how to get the specs, and also cannot download the ACX check? I hope you were successful. That would give me hope. I'm at the point where I've decided to pay a so...

Re: Expander for Audacity?
Chris Capel's compressor, (made specifically for Audacity), works as an expander if you put in a negative-value for the compression-ratio.sonnichs wrote:What is the choice of expander for Audacity these days?
There's FloorFish VST plug-in, but that's Windows only.

Re: Recording what my headphones hear / fully digital captur
So is SPDIF a directly digital capture process? S/PDIF (Sony/Philips Digital Interface) is a digital sound transfer system. It's a cousin to the much larger digital sound services on broadcast videotape machines. I don't think the ringtones on an iPhone are easily available for transfer out of the ...

Re: Portable Audacity
And what will go into that Portable Settings folder? When Audacity finds a "Portable Settings" folder, Audacity uses that (rather than the default locations) for the following files and folders: AutoSave (folder) Audacity creates one "autosave" file for each open project. These ...

Those FFmpeg messages are normal. It's just logging the search.
