Re: Mouth noise hell

btw...anyone have any suggestions on non-computer recording equipment? That is the logical alternative, isn't it? I would give anything to be able to supply an equipment list, but I can't. The obvious choice is record on your phone. I'm still struggling with that. There was a recent poster who trie...

Re: No loop playback button?

Sorry, I'm addressing the folks at Audacity. who were participating in this discussion when it started 3 years ago. Specifically "steve" and "Gale Andrews". I'm aware of how to play a loop. Were you aware that it took me a half-hour of weeding through wrong answers from my search...

Re: Newbie using Audio-technica AT-LP120-USB

1.What is the best quality format to save my music? MP3 or something else like WAV? WAV is universal, uncompressed and lossless. But, metadata is not well-supported. Regular audio CDs are not WAV files, but 44.1kHz, 16-bit, WAV uses the same underlying PCM format as CD, and you can convert back-and...

Re: newbie seeks recommendations

Thank you for that info! Very helpful. So, if I bought the equipment below, I would be okay, at least starting off? I have an empty walk-in closet in a quiet back bedroom I thought I would deck out with blankets and stuff, and that would be my “studio.” If the cable is long enough, I would just stri...

Re: newbie seeks recommendations

Could you tell me what the cheapest microphone... I don't have a specific recommendation for you, but generally a decent microphone will cost more than $100. You can probably find an acceptable mic for less than that, but you'll have to shop carefully. On the other end of the spectrum, there are lo...

Re: New to Audacity and want to add backing tracks

Dvddoug-thanks for the info. I messed around with it more. Found some instruments, tried to install them to the plugins. Problem was everything I found was 64 bit, just like my Windows 10, so I thought it would work....nope. Audacity is not 64 bit. Search around and found out Audacity doesn't suppor...

Re: New to Audacity and want to add backing tracks

I'm not a guitar player so don't take everything I say as Gospel... What I have learned is that I record guitar track and then afterwords add effects such as reverb. Don't know yet if I can to that to use in real time. That's a BIG question... Audacity doesn't apply effects in real time. A DAW can a...

2.2.2 often unresponsive

I use Audacity to edit audio books. In earlier versions, I would stop play, make a selection and delete and it would be instantaneous. With this current version, I have to wait often 5-10 seconds to be allowed to do anything with what I've selected, and other times the program won't ever switch over...

Re: Remove musical overlay on flight video

I think it's impossible to remove music from aircraft-noise. You could cheat : transplant another aircraft-noise soundtrack to the video ... https://freesound.org/search/?q=interior+aircraft You'll need video-editing software to do that (Audacity only edits sound). What a brilliant idea! I already ...
