Re: Removing any Cached/Temp Audio Files??

those "temp" files were at some point written to my hard-drive, so a technical person could search my hard-drive, find those "deleted" files, and still be able to get my SSN, right? Probably not. This isn't like Windows. Macs are based on Unix/Linux. You can still run the Linux ...

Re: Removing any Cached/Temp Audio Files??

So if I save my project as "Private_phone_call.aup", then the temporary files stored in "Directories" disappear? What I want to do is edit out me saying my SSN, DOB, etc., then save the project, create an mp3 of the call (minus my PII), and then delete the project. Would that be ...

Re: Label data to text file

Thank you very much for your extensive help. I've been able to adapt my own code accordingly, but there is a bit of an odd issue I ran into: By adapting my code based on your suggestions to this: ;nyquist plug-in ;version 4 ;type analyze ;name "Sound Finder to Text File Work..." ;action &q...

Re: Audacity 2.3.0 crashes with many plugins and the wahwah effect

The Artful repo still has version 2.2.2: http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntuhandbook1/audacity/ubuntu/dists/artful/ So you'd add this repo to Synaptic: http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntuhandbook1/audacity/ubuntu/ And use artful as the distribution. Then refresh, search for Audacity in the package list, sel...

Is audacity.de an official domain from the audacity team?

Because it sure looks like it, is top in google if you search for audacity and (German) users visit it to download audacity. Me too. I had no reason to believe it was not official, so when windows defender detected a threat, I just disabled the antivirus for the period of downloading, thinking it wa...

Re: AUTOMATING inserting separate voice recordings to create a conversation output. Has anyone done it?

Thank you very much, Steve. But I think it should be possible to solve that 'accessing of tracks one at a time' problem by just searching through a track until you hit the next sequential label number (eg. search track 2 until you find label 44, if not then search track 3 -if it exists. etc.). What ...

Re: where is the _data folder stored?

If Windows search couldn't find it, it's probably gone. The AUP file and the _DATA folder need to be in the same location or folder to find each other. If it's not there just by looking around, that's a serious problem. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MyMusicAUP-MyMusic_DATA.jpg It hasn't happene...

Re: Why does Audacity insert a silence at the start of a mp3?

See the LAME FAQ

You can search for "gapless MP3". But, that's mostly a feature of the player. Some players can also crossfade. But the obvious solution is to do as Koz suggested and stop using MP3 (for looping).
