Re: Getting an echo on record
Hi Pobinr, Billw58 and Kozikowski Thanks for your query. It sounds like you may be listening back to the input source while recording both through Audacity and the Saffire - if you've got your speakers/headphones connected to the Saffire directly. If so, I would recommend having only one of the two ...

Re: Audacity 2.3.0 CalfPlugin dont work
Which version of Calf Plug-ins? As I wrote, I've had problems with Calf plug-ins for a long time (on Ubuntu) and tried many different versions. Some versions of some of the plug-ins have worked with each Audacity version, but I've failed to find any combination where all of the Calf plug-ins work wi...

Re: 2.3.0 Debug Error
Is the text in the "wxWidgets Debug Alert" exactly the same as reported by DarkSwordsman ?
(it would be helpful if you could copy and paste the error message into your reply - it's impossible to search the code without the errors as text.)

Re: Can't open my Audacity Project file!
A friend of mine tells me that if I place the .aup file along with the data back in its original place, the problem will be fixed. Your friend is probably correct. You need to search for the folder that is called "Tin Can Town Audio Story_data". In the top right of any finder window there...

Re: Ribbon Mic recording [CLOSED]
I just bought a copy of the plans for the Austin DIY Ribbon Mic and want to use it in Audacity. Being a ribbon mic, it requires a high gain, and the preamplifier designed to be compatible with it has an input impedance of 33k Ohms. Is there a usb soundcard that can work temporarily in place of the ...

Re: how to search the online manual (not the whole wiki)?
In most cases it is possible to find the relevant section by searching the front page of the manual with your web browser's word search (usually "Ctrl + F"). Note also that the big picture on that page has "tooltips" when you hover the mouse over it, and clicking on part of the i...

how to search the online manual (not the whole wiki)?
hello, i'm kinda new here so sorry if the answer is obvious. when i'm using the Audacity program, there is a link to the online help (manual). when I click that link I go to the online manual but I don't see any way to search the manual. I can "search the wiki" which includes much more tha...

Value not in range error when generating a tone
Hello Audacity community, This is the first time I have used Audacity, so apologies in advance if this has been answered before. I couldn't find it by searching the forum, but there were so many irrelevant results matching my search terms that it was hard to sift through them all. I am trying to gen...

Re: HELP! Same set up over two days, but different audio quality!
Yes, that is the headphone volume control on the front. We assume you can't adjust it while performing. Touching a microphone in mid performance Is Not Done. Pending the results of your long pause test, I'm going to conclude the Meteor is just a high volume microphone. And yes, I'm perfectly clear h...

Re: Audacity 2.3.0 update gone wrong
That update is distributed through the update manager from Linux Mint and it is still available in the repository (Linux Mint uses the Ubuntu repositories). They handle it as a stable release. That would explain why many people have got that update. It shouldn't be, though it may be listed ...
