Re: Audio Spectrum from Stereo to Mono
So far, while analysing S_RoadToHell_ChrisRea2.wav, I noticed that the length of the top header is 80 bytes (excluding the first 8 bytes). And the length of the bottom one is 308 (starting with “LIST”). To simplify a bit my work, I tried removing the latter header and adjust the file length (byte_4 ...

Re: How can I use Audacity with a foot pedal?
I think that to get all the features you want, you will need a "transcription player" that is designed specifically for that job. Audacity is primarily designed to be an audio recorder and editor, not an audio player, and not a transcription audio player. Google comes up with some options ...

Re: Why is this grey?
there must be some programming decision i'm not understanding. The command list is not hard-coded into the keyboard preferences, but is generated on demand from the "Command Manager". The Command Manager maintains a list of all commands, including menu items that do nothing except for hol...

Re: Is there a plugin that can display tracks by pitch instead of by volume?
Have you tried looking at the Queen Mary Vamp plug-ins ? They include some pitch analaysis plug-ins and work well with Audacity. See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/analyze_menu.html#vamp You can get the QM plug-in set from here: https://www.vamp-plugins.org/download.html Search down the page f...

Re: Failed to disconnect from DDE server
Official releases of Audacity do not support ASIO (or ASIO4ALL), so running Audacity at the same time as an ASIO application (such as FL Studio) may cause conflicts. The only way that I know to completely avoid such conflicts, is to not use ASIO and non-ASIO applications at the same time. Sorry for...

Re: How to simulate single sideband modulation effect
Yes. However, to theatrically "sell" the effect, you have to miss it a couple of times as the camera zooms into the operator setting the receiver, first too high and then too low and then hit it. Single Sideband has no carrier to automatically tell the receiver what to do, so it's up to th...

Help opening/recovering corrupted(?) audio file
Version: 2.3.0 OS: Windows 10 So, an older coworker of mine was having issues with getting some old audio files that were important to him to play(I think they were originally recorded off an old walkman or something), and asked me if I could get them working. I tried opening them on VLC, but despit...

Re: Error Opening Sound Device - Tried EVERYTHING - STILL NO CHANGE
Thanks, Koz. Oh, the meters definitely jump. No doubt that the sound is being received because I can record with Garageband,QuickTime Player, and ocenaudio. In fact, I'm using the newest version of ocenaudio right now while I try to solve the Audacity problem. It's not as fully featured as Audacity,...

What makes you think I am running Skype in the background? I have already said that I close Skype when I am finished with it. I just ran Task Manager and there is no entry for Skype! I will search the web when I next have time to see if there are any problems like this reported for Skype. I will see...
