Cannot get ACX check plug in
Hi I have the most updated version of the Audacity app and have downloaded both the LAME and FFmpeg plug ins and they're both available in my Libraries. When I go to download the ACX check plug in, it first says "There is no application set to open the document “Acx-check(7).ny” " then &qu...

Re: Latest Itunes changing songs to 789 hours
I don't think that this problem is due to Audacity. From a quick Google search, I see numerous reports of this "789 hours" in iTunes issue going back to at least 2006. Unfortunately I've not found any confirmed solutions to the problem. The most likely solution that I found, was to remove ...

Re: not recognizing any device
Ok, I kind of found a solution, which is not perfect, but at least it's working partly. I uninstalled the version 2.3.1 that I had from the PPA and by luck I learned about something called installing from snaps when I tried to download another program. So I decided to give it a try and search for au...

Re: Cannot open .aup files/file cannot be found
What was a typical AUP filename? Did you include dates? If you did you might want to search what would happen if you made a date into a computer file structure. Today is 3/25/19. Sometimes if a computer sees that, it will look like a file 19 inside a folder 25 inside a larger folder 3. It's a good i...

Re: Cannot open .aup files/file cannot be found
If you move a file, Audacity's recent files function won't find them.
Use the Finder's search function to look for the files.
Also, be aware that the AUP file and its associated _data folder must be kept together.

Re: Can't get LAME (64-bit) to work on Audacity 2.3.1
I have so many mp3's that are whole albums and this app (Audacity) is perfect for seperating them into seperate tracks! About that... As you probably know. MP3 is lossy compression. When you open a compressed file in Audacity (or any normal audio editor/DAW) it gets decompressed. If you re-export t...

Re: "could not create autosave file"
I have been facing the same issue in version 2.3.1 in Windows 10. I managed to solve those issues by adding Audacity to the authorized apps list, following the following instructions. - Search start menu for "Controlled folder access" and open its settings - Click "Allow an app throug...
