Re: Problems downloading plug-ins
It's now at my desktop I do everything through the desktop. It's enormously easier than chasing files all over the machine. When the desktop starts to fill up, then I do the housekeeping—at a time convenient to me. Here's a trick. If you try to use Spotlight to find something, it will naturally ass...

Re: Audacity automatically saving projects as zipped files
You should stop paying attention to the pictures and icons on your machine. They're fried. You should also tell Windows to stop hiding filename extensions. That's elegant and convenient when everything is going OK, but a living nightmare when it's not. This is first hit from a Google search: Hide Wi...

Re: Audacity automatically saving projects as zipped files
That's the icon for VLC Media Player. No, I can't think of a way to make this more surreal, either. If it really is an AUP file, you should be able to open it in TextEdit or NotePad. The AUP file is simple text. Right-Click > Open With.... http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/aupFileGraphic-redbox.jpg...

Re: Live Audacity
You can get VST effect plugins and a VST Host application. Or, virtually all DAWs can also apply effects in real time. I just cannot for the life of me find a way to do it without buying specialized hardware. There is always some latency (delay) through a computer (because of the multitasking operat...

Re: Adding textual data to project
Yes, DVDdog, exactly.. I like singing.. and see lyrics while singing, or at least 2b able to attach it to the project data. So I would see the digital data graphs and, say, right embed frame with text data. I'll try your way.. but was it so hard to add such feature to the App? Sometimes I do a proje...

Re: Audacity 2.3.1 crash on El Capitan 10.11.6
I could recover one. I'll survive losing the rest. It's just half a day work. Plenty of backup. Have gone back to one project open, lots of save. The interruption is the worst thing really, as I lost my train of thoughts :-) I'm just wondering what the reason for this error is. A search yielded some...

Re: Audacity 2.3.1 crash on El Capitan 10.11.6
Take care if you search for the errors. I usually use Qwant. No problem there. But Google seems to have picked up a few pages trying to inject malware through your browser, pretending to be an annual site survey.

Audacity 2.3.1 crash on El Capitan 10.11.6
I've been using Audacity for some simple editing. Trimming, normalising, EQ, exporting to MP3 and WAV. Input is 48 kHz, 24 bit. Audacity 2.3.1 on Macos 10.11.6. As long as I work with one project file, everything is hunky dory. However, I have four backup channels I need for a couple of tracks. Unfo...

Re: Cable Creation USB-C Jack Adapter
I have Dell Studio Xps13 9370 which comes with only one jack With a TRRS Adapter Cable you can connect headphones and a microphone without using the USB soundcard. But for some reason when I put in my Mic straight into my laptop's jack the recording input is normal again and better. If that's worki...

Deleting duplicated unwanted sounds
Hello I am a newbie to this forum, and I use Audacity to edit recorded spoken presentations. Frequently a speaker will "umm" or "err" which distracts from the recording. Currently I manually delete these unwanted sounds, but that can be extremely time-consuming. So it would be ve...
