Re: No playback sound after Windows 10 update

It is when I am attempting to digitize a new album that I get no playback sound. You may say it is the monitoring sound Yes. "Monitoring" means listening to what's being recorded. In a recording studio the recording engineer typically monitors from "behind the glass" with studio...

Re: Audio latency

Every soundcard (or USB microphone, etc.) has it's own clock (oscillator) to generate the sample rate (i.e. 44,000 samples per second). There is no "perfect" clock and "cheap consumer soundcards" tend to be worse than audio interfaces . And how can I fix this easily? An audio int...

Re: Every Audacity Project on Computer Simultaneously Corrupted

Most of the log is complaining about not being able to find FFMpeg and its associated programs. This looks like the sky is falling, but is normal if you didn't install the FFMpeg libraries. You may not if you didn't need them. They're optional if you didn't need additional or unusual sound formats....

Re: Sound Activated Recording ...

You still have to convert timeline time to real time. Audacity doesn't make a very good Surveillance Recorder. That's your Google Search Term. Koz LOL. You're right, Koz. I need a Surveillance Recorder. I'm trying to document a barking dogs problem being caused by a neighbor. Thanks for the tips.

Re: HELP PLEASE!! (ACX-Check Download)

The .NY file should not be on your desktop. It should be moved to your plug-ins folder where you should find other .NY files. For example, on my computer I have C:\Program Files (x68)\Audacity\Plug-Ins. If you can't find it search your hard drive for "Plug-Ins". You don't have to "ins...

Re: Any way to save a custom layout? i.e. which toolbars show upon opening?

A good tip for finding things in the manual:
Go to the manual's index page (https://manual.audacityteam.org/), and use your web browser's search function (usually "Ctrl + F").

Example: Try searching the index page for the word "batch" and you will find it.
