Re: "Audacity is already running" error.

Just for grins and giggles, did you shut down your machine? I don't mean Restart, I mean Apple > Shut Down... Wait for everything to clear out and lose the little spinning daisy. Wait a bit and then Start [CHONG]. I know I'm going to get in trouble with that. The super new machines don't Chong any m...

Re: Merge copies of same track into one track

You can search for a 3rd-party Chorus plug-in effect. 3rd-party effects (typically VST effects) can be hit-or miss with Audacity so you may have to try more than one. Usually chorus effects (or 'automatic double tracking" effects) are not realistic, but they are still very-commonly used. I want...

Exporting to MP3

I'm trying to export to MP3. I click through the options to do this and get the message "Audacity needs the file libmp3lame.dylib to create MP3s. If I click on the option to download Lame I get taken to a page where it says Lame is now built-in with Audacity for Mac. So why isn't it working? I'...

Re: 2.3.0 Debug Error

Sorry for the old bump, but it's the first result on Google Search and the issue just happened to me on 2.3.2, and I fixed it on my end! OS = Windows 7 SP1 64 bits Previous installs : Audacity 2.0.6 and " FFMpeg for Audacity" 0.6.2 Steps followed: 1) Downloaded Audacity 2.3.2 on Fosshub , ...

Re: YOUR FORUM SUCKS

Oh the problem is with MY computer not YOUR software huh? Strange how my computer runs every single program, including multiple audio related ones (inc. ffmpeg) without ANY ERRORS WHATSOEVER but, of course, this is NOT an audacity problem, oh no. Audacity works fine and EVERY OTHER program on my co...

Re: Audacity not recording at all

Hello again,
I tried to record from the same sources (web and a music CD) with Reaper and it doesn't record anything either. It seems to mean that the problem is not with Audacity nor Reaper, but with my system. But where to search ! Hope that test will be useful to others.
Regards

Prob-rob-rob-lem

No similar problem after search..... Sometimes when recording from YouTube or Spotify, using WASAPI, the loopback setting for my interface and stereo, I get reverb/echo in my recordings. It is such good reverb/echo that I have to check to original recording to see if it has it as per normal. Since s...

Find jingles in large audio file

I would like to remove all the advertising blocks from an audio file. The advertising blocks always start with the same jingle. Is there a possibility, for example, to select the first jingle and then have audacity search for the following jingles, so that I can remove them together with the adverti...

Re: Code to Select Audio

Since I want to provide for quite long time windows (up to 30 seconds), I still need to write a n error message for the cases when someone makes a sound selection shorter then the chosen time window. Here's the error code: (let ((selected (get '*selection* 'tracks)) (id (get '*track* 'index)) (sels...

Re: normalization across many sound clips

Some player software supports ReplayGain . With ReplayGain, your files are pre-scanned and tagged with a loudness adjustment. The actual audio data in the file isn't touched. The volume is automatically tweaked during playback. Of course not all player software supports ReplayGain. iTunes has a simi...
