Poor sound quality from a video on chrome
Hi audiophile, I am asking the hive mind some help. I am trying to record the audio of a series of talks on video but after long search here and trying multiple settings, both on audiacity and on the laptop soundsettings, the played back audio always comes out of very poor quality, not at all like w...

Add New Track OTHER than at bottom...
(Win7, Audacity 2.3.0 mostly, although I occasionally use other versions on other OSs) Ok, I've searched the net and tried to search this forum (always an epic fail for me, can't seem to get it to search for a phrase); I suspect there isn't any, but I'd feel silly if I didn't ask. Is there any way t...

Re: "Relink missing media"
You can open the *.aup file in notepad an then search for the old filepath and replace it with the new one. Worked perfectly with a project of mine

Re: Need help making a (gapless) live recording!
MP3 (and I believe AAC too) adds a few milliseconds of silence to the beginning and end of the file. There is player software that can automatically skip-over the silence, but I've neve played-around with it and apparently it's tricky to set-up. You can search for "gapless MP3". It might b...

Re: Doesn't translate MP3 to midi
You can search the Internet for "audio to MIDI" or "MP3 to MIDI". In general, that's VERY difficult depending on the complexity of the sound. i.e. You'll probably get better results with a single instrument that's only playing one note at a time. Chords are more difficult and if ...

Re: bug: no comment tag when export to multiple using flac format
macOS 10.14.6 Audacity 2.2.2 When I export multiple using flac format, the comment tag is empty, though I have entered data in the field in edit:medtadata, and it shows up in other export formats. This is a bug - and my testing shows it still present in 2.3.2 and the latest alpha test builds fpr 2....

The Red Triangle
For some reason, Audacity has stopped working. When I go to record, I get two red triangles, one a few seconds before zero time and one at zero, and the round "record" button says "click to pin". The record head does not move, nothing records. I'm on a Mac running Mojave. I reins...

Re: "Pumping" on some speakers, not all Speakers
they are very bass-y for voice stuff. I see a bass control on the back panel. Nothing about processing in the instructions, but since it's USB connected, it doesn't go through the regular soundcard. Did you install a driver? Does the speaker maker show up on a Windows search? Windows Control Panels...

Recording music played by a different Windows application
Windows 8.1 Audacity 2.1.3 How do I record sounds being played by a different Windows application? The instructions I have for this say: - Run Audacity - Make sure the Input Device is set to Stereo Mix (SoundMAX Integrated Sound System) I don't have SoundMAX Integrated Sound System on this PC, and I...

Re: Troubleshooting with Normalize or Amplify
Do you use "Axure" production software? There is a link between that and LookupViewService being unstable or crashing. We also know (from Google) that LookupViewService is a memory pig and I can see Audacity and LookupViewService struggling for the same memory locations. Audacity has to ke...
