Re: Memory usage? 100%???
If what you mean is that using Task Manager (without Audacity running) uses all your memory and caused your system to freeze, then you've got problems nothing to do with Audacity. "SpeedUpMyPc3" and programs of that ilk, I've found do more harm than good. If you're saying you have a gig of RAM... th...

Too Simple!! [email protected]#$%^
I'm about ready to throw something. If the forum software thinks a search term is "Too Simple," it just throws its little hands up and quits instead of giving me the top hits. Sometimes, I don't remember any more than simple search terms. I'll decide if they're too simple, thanks. I'm all grown up n...

Freeverb and Gverb Install Problems
I'm new to Audacity and trying to add reverb to a couple of files and came across Gverb and Freeverb, neither of which I can get to load and run. I believe that I have followed the install directions exactly for each but neither shows up in the Effects Menu. I put Freeverb and vst-bridge.so in the P...

Re: ENORMOUS NOISE PROBLEM
There is a data coordination problem between the USB device, the computer, and Audacity. Apparently. What this causes is an unstable system. It doesn't break right away, that would be too easy. If you read all the postings (search USB + Turntable) you come out with only one impression. There are no ...

Re: Converting from vrf
vrf is a proprietary format used by Ventrillo. Only Ventrillo can play them. You can play them with Ventrillo, and record them with Audicity by choosing "Microsoft Sound Mapper - Input" as your Recording device, if you have Audicity and Ventrillo on the same machine. I quick google search also found...

Determining Record Levels
I'd like to record some vinyls on my PC, but i'm having some problems determining the correct Input level. I've followed some guides/tutorials on the wiki, and they advice me to adjust input levels so the 'Red Clipping Indicator' on the 'Meter Toolbar' doesn't appear. (As described here: http://www....

Re: Only 2 choices in mixer toolbar input source
The selections available on the input drop-down selector are entirely down to your soundcards and their associated device drivers. You can try updating the driver software - a search of t'interweb may show that later updated versions are available. - but this won't necessarily increase the available...

Re: Set-up, No RCA Jacks on computer
ION turntables have two sets of outputs, a pair of phono plugs and a USB connector. The way you are supposed to set it up is to plug the phono plugs into a hi-fi amplifier turntable input, and plug the USB into your computer. It is important that the analogue (phono) inputs connect to a turntable (p...
