Re: How to Turn Off Effects?
<<<There are Mac people still using System 8 or System 9? All must be powered through their wind mills???!!! :)>>> The idea is to point out how old this version of Audacity is. Remember all the odd things and problems OS-8 had? Audacity 1.4.x is just about ready for release. I believe you need to pu...

Re: M-Audio Revolution 7.1 -- No "Stereo Mix" or "Wave Out"
It definitely looks like a driver issue. I've recently run into some trouble like this myself with my Delta1010LT card. The newest set of drivers removed the ability to record the speaker output. I've since reverted back to the 6-month old drivers that work properly. I suggest you use a slightly old...

Do you mean Starcraft? Protoss voice? If so, better to look something into like "Voice changing engine" Search on google for info.

click removal
Hi,
Is there a way of getting Audacity to search the wave form for specific configurations or aberations? I'm thinking that if it would find sharp peaks, or waves below a certain length, that clicks which the click removal function did not remove, could be more easily found.
Thanks,
John

Re: Recording Rap... [PLEASE READ/HELP]!!!!!!!!
For the bare bones basics of rap, all you need is a microphone and a good beat. For a good freeware drum machine, I recommend Hotstepper. After getting Hotstepper, search the Web, there are lots of sites with free drum samples to add to Hotstepper's default library. Then add a little creativity and ...

Re: Hum/Hiss editing from wedding - HELP!!!!
Oh I had that problem a while ago, apparently there's many ways to reduce noise and humming. But there's been quite a good way to do it. Anyhow, some software has automatic noise suppression, I don't know about audacity but I know soundforge can, plus theres like tons of settings in sound forge. So ...

Re: Help with making selections?
How short are these clips? Even at lower bit rates, a 1KB mp3 is going to be well under 1 second in length. I'm guessing that they haven't actually been written correctly. In order to test that, can you open these files you've created in Audacity? If you can open and play them in Audacity, then the ...

Re: Help w/Volume Please
You can load those audio files into Audacity, highlight them one at a time, and click effects -> amplify. If you use the default setting, the files will be as loud as possible without altering the dynamic range. If you need them louder, you have to use the Compressor effect. Do a forum search for "C...
