Re: Almost Finished Edit Now Has Big Holes in the Waveform!H
Thank you for your reply, Stevethefiddle. Following an exhaustive search on Error 2, reading all of Koz's painstaking replies to panicked people like myself, and now with your input, I can only agree that I am, indeed, stuffed. There are far to many lost .au files to even begin searching for them, a...

Re: Distortion / Screechy noise on my recordings
Hopefully, the Line-Out of your mixer to the Line-In of the Mac. The Mac has a perfectly good "Sound Card" built in, although it's only good for Line (high) Level. The icon is a little circle with two black arrows pointing in. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102974&cp=&sr=1&or...

Where's the help file?
I just installed Audacity 1.2 and when I click on Help, I get a search box for audacity-1.2-help.html but the file isn't on my hard drive. Is it downloadable somewhere, or am I just not looking in the right place?

Re: dB level meaning and reference
One more piece. It's embarrassing how many people use the Radio Shack sound meters. http://www.radioshack.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=audio%20meter&origkw=audio%20meter&sr=1 Everybody goes for the hi techie digital one, but remember that one won't show you moving values like the analog one will...

How can I make an installable package
I have a SuSE 10.2 test machine from which Audacity 1.3.4-3-beta has been compiled with an asihpi soundcard driver library, the latter which is not part of the current Audacity fileset. The intent is to build an installable package to install Audacity on a couple of systems with ASI sound cards. The...

Tried troubleshooting. Any other ideas?
This last week I had my students record radio shows directly through my intel Mac's (10.4.11) microphone into Audacity (1.2.5). I saved each project separately onto my desktop. Yesterday, I went to edit the extraneous sound. It was perfect, I saved the project 2x while working and came back today to...

Re: sound cards
If you want to use a sound-card (such as SBLive) without the "enhanced" features, do NOT install directly from the installation disk. Instead you should fit the sound-card and install ONLY the soundcard drivers. If the CD "auto-runs", close/exit the installation program. When Windows prompts you to ...
