Re: Russian manual
Currently there are only a handful of pages translated into Russian, and I expect that those pages are massively out of date: https://alphamanual.audacityteam.org/m/index.php?title=Special%3ASearch&search=%2Fru&fulltext=Search A good starting point for a new translation would be the "To...

Plot Spectrum: Lower amplitude limit
When running Audacity with default preferences, opening "Show spectrum" shows a fixed lower limit at -90 dB, even if there is spectral content below this level. In most situations, you can't even see the noise floor. By chance I found out that changing "Preferences -> Interface -> Met...

Re: Learning beginning mixing/equalization?
Automated equalization is possible. The cheapest plug-in I've seen which can do that is Hornet31, (~$20).
It will automatically correct any resonance on individual tracks, & can even-out the frequency-content of the final mix.

Re: project and file naming conventions
Some fuzzy opinions and observations. Step one. Make the computer reveal filename extensions. There's just nothing quite like seeing three of the exact same name and trying to decipher from the pretty graphic which one goes with what. .WAV are the perfect quality Microsoft wav files typical of raw p...

Re: "Could not find project data folder / Could not load file"
I cannot locate the data file that is attached to it. The audio data is not in a "file", it's in a "folder". The Audacity project file should be called: "SHGO interview.aup". The data folder should be called "SHGO interview_data". Search for a folder called &...

Re: Immersive Effect?
It looks like a 3D plugin , only some work in Audacity in Windows, (32-bit VST, not 64-bit, not VST3).
Panagement is the only one is can confirm works in Audacity.

Re: Playback problems
Start by checking the output to your headphones in general. From the windows start button find the run option and type in mmsys.cpl. If you can't find the run option search for it using the search facility on the toolbar. When the sound control panel comes up you will see a list of all playback devi...

Re: Background Noise From Computer
I'm running through a pre-amp to the laptop computer which is an ASUS gaming computer with a 1TB hard drive. I assume your laptop does not have a line-input? Most laptops have only mic-in and headphone-out. A microphone input has too much gain (which means it amplifies any noise and you'll probably...
