Re: HELP! No sound after saving projects -- flat liners!

<<<Doesn't anyone save as Audacity projects? >>> I don't. I export as WAV right at the capture step and then several times as the production editing progresses. Then export the Client Master as another WAV. I'm personally horrified that the Audacity programmers made "Save A Project" the de...

Re: Select is locked to each second?

Always happens . . . . .

Found the answer after refining my search. I had to untick the "Snap to" option in the selection bar (that I had hidden).

I'll get me coat.

Re: Mac 10.4.11 File Path for toolbar help button

You can search for the path. The filename is audacity-1.2-help.htb. Version 1.3 isn't nearly so helpful. Try substituting 1.3 in the filename.

I don't have any of the help systems loaded on my machine, so I'm flying blind.

Re: music editing

<<<(1) The song is played back in a fraction of a second>>> That's what happens when you import a song that Audacity doesn't recognize. You need to convert the song to WAV or MP3 in an outside software package. Audacity has no idea what Windows Media is. Your Google search is WMA to WAV converter. A...

Re: Remove harsh frequencies from recorded sound

Interesting? You bet!!! How do you know so much? Are you a sound engineer by profession? :o I am going to try this when I get home. But Steve, I may not be able to get back to this any time soon. My internet connection goes away tomorrow, and I am leaving in the night. The drive from one coast to th...

Re: Record without Microphone???

Well, yes. Assuming your computer has a Mic-In (not just a Line-In) and assuming you have a speaker that has no amplifier inside, you can yell into the speaker and have it appear in Audacity. A simple speaker ... http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Jensen-C8R-25W-8-Replacement-Speaker?sku=665001&...

I'm a Dunce, Can You Help Me?

I installed Audacity 1.2.6 on my Dell PC, which has a Windows XP OS. I went through a bunch of problems after installing it that I won't bore you with (e.g., my old plug-in mic that worked fine with my cassette tapedeck wouldn't work, so I got a USB mic). My intention was to create and record radio ...

Re: Not working

I would hesitate before leaping off the cliff .... Any USB TT that you buy will need software to drive it (there is one exception I know of and that is one of the ION model that enables you to record from the TT straight to an iPod placed in the TT's iPod dock) - and the most commonly shipped s/w wi...

Hi Gale, I'm on windows vista premium. I have recorded 17 days of workshop material, eg voice recordings. I've been through the tutorials and forum search and still have the question Right now I have a one day file of 2.5 gigs which has all the files apparently intact based on the file size, compare...

Re: The Letter 'Z'

Check you audacity version and tell us (forum heading claims you have 1.3.x. There is no .cfg with 1.2.x !!) Tell us your windows version. Search audacity.cfg file in your c:. By any method (Win+F in Windows, Alt-F7 in Whatever-Commander). I do not hope .cfg deletions changes Z - behaviour (unless a...
