Re: Disguise a voice
The ring modulator is a plug-in effect - look in the Audacity wki (link at top of page) and search for plug-in. the changes could probably be easily undone by someone. If you are planning a major criminal operation be aware that almost all voice scrambling methods can be reverse engineered. If this ...

Re: error message
It's almost certainly not an Audacity problem, but one of the many variations of the classic USB problems. Sometimes using a different USB port can help. Also avoid using any other programs at the same time as Audacity, especially anything that is CPU intensive. It is usually best to disable Windows...

Re: iCONNEX iKEY-AUDIO USB sound card help needed
I'm still not having any luck with the iCONNEX iKEY USB sound card. I can use audacity to record audio from youtube and save/export that as an mp3 file onto my computer, and I can load and edit any mp3 files that I already have on my computer. I haven't done much of this but just enough to feel that...

Re: New track lagging behind.
Audacity does not support ASIO due to licensing restrictions, however to get round this, Audacity implements "latency correction". In Audacity 1.2.6, this is fully automatic, and usually does a pretty reasonable job, though some sound cards seem to work a lot better at some sample rates th...

Re: Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron - lots of bugs
There has been a lot of postings about getting Audacity to work in 8.04. I had numerous problems including not being unable to reord or plaback. I found the answer on my machine (Dual intel with ICH9 onboard sound) to be to delete all Jack files. In synaptic use search to find what Jack files are on...

Wow! I'm so happy. It is working again. Speechless gave me the concern about SP1 so I did a search on SP! in all threads and came up with a thread titled "Why Won't it Work??!!", which was a familiar refrain here. Anyway, here is the answer that put my system back into operation. It's impo...

Re: Audacity karaoke question
Congratulations, I'm glad you got a good result :D I still would like to get a recording software that can have specific input on a per track basis, rather than one input only, Audacity can record up to 16 tracks at the same time - that's 16 inputs onto 16 tracks of their own, all at the same time -...
