Re: Ubuntu 8.10, cannot hear audio.
BTW , any other application that produces audio output, works well... From my quick search of Google, it appears that support for this sound card is somewhat "flaky" and since Audacity has rather more demanding requirements of the audio drivers than many simple playback devices it is more...

Re: How to convert Joint-Stereo to Stereo in Windows MediaPl
http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=lame It might be the best encoder according to them, but they mentioned that its great for VBR. Is it awesome for CBR? And with C-Dex, how do I set up Stereo and not Joint Stereo with 320kbps mp3? OH AND BY THE WAY: Last question, I'm getting a Jimi Hendrix's Axis: ...

Re: Cutting the Drum Track??
Strike one is the song being an MP3. MP3 compression tends to blur the ability of production tools. Strike two and three are if the song is in mono. All the separation and isolation tools work in stereo only. You might be able to get the Center Pan Removal tools to do this. Frequently, when the sing...

Have problems recording audio with Realtek HD
Hi guys, On my previous PC (XP) I had Audacity and when I tried to record via my speakers no sound was being registered. I played around with the drop down menu in the top right and this fixed the problem. I now have a new PC (Vista) with Realtek HD and what I hear isn't registering when recording, ...

Re: Multi Track Recording
Yes, but you may need to install older sound card drivers, and possibly Audacity 1.3.4
If you search the forum (search box in top right corner) there are some posts about using the M-Audio 1010LT.

Re: keyboard shortcuts
Known issue. Your preferences file got damaged. Close Audacity. Search the computer for audacity.cfg. When you find it, drag it to the trash. This effectively reinstalls Audacity with all the keyboard shortcut damage missing (hopefully). It also destroys all your preferences, so you need to go in ag...

Re: Auto Tune/Vo-Coder (T-Pain Voice)
Somebody Google the effect. I've never heard of it. Point us to a sound track with the effect? iTunes references work. You mean like the Peter Frampton effect in that Geico commercial? Unfortunately, the guy who posted it on YouTube pulled it down. That's a vocoder and I think there's a whole thread...

Re: Illegal Operation message while trying to export to MP3
Following from Stearman's link - Amazon UK has a whole page of 1TB disks http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_ce?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=1TB+External+Hard+Drive&x=13&y=14 - and the prices seem to be tumbling almost monthly (or the amount of storage increases per £/$)...

Re: Not recording
When I go to Audacity to try your recommendations the site freezes up and turns dark and will not respond I presume that you mean that the "program" (Audacity) freezes. I had quite a few problems with Audacity 1.3.4 on Ubuntu 8.04. The way I resolved it was to uninstall Audacity completel...
