input output of individual tracks
I would like to adopt a track centric view of a song and output (export) and import individual tracks. The reason is that our band is not rehearsing due to Coronavirus and so we are exploring putting down a click track and then building up a song by each member of the band adding a track in their ho...

First time set up - WASAPI recording - LOUD feedback
Audacity version 2.1.3 - Windows 10. This is probably a dumb question, but I have no idea what I'm doing and would appreciate any input on how to fix this issue. I can't seem to search for the solution either, as I don't know what I'm supposed to even search for. When trying to record what I hear ou...

Recording a cellphone call through Audacity
Hello, I have done a search for some sort of answer to this for the last 2 days and can't find an answer. Within my job, I have the ability to work from home. There is a program we use to be able to make calls from our computer to outside numbers, such as a cell phone. We sometimes need to record th...

Re: mp3 timing off with original movie
If you do a Google search on something like - OBS separate audio tracks - you will get thousands of hits that show you how to get separate audio tracks out of OBS. This one looks like a comprehensive tutorial, but if it doesn't cover your needs, check out the other search results. https://www.youtub...

Re: Sounds good everywhere but PC speakers
Competing posts. It's possible you can have Windows "helping you" by boosting bass notes, and then only in certain conditions. Turn off any "Windows Enhancements." I had a machine from the Systems people where they accidentally left "Cathedral Effects" running on playba...

Re: Can't find .wav I exported
I guess WAV files are just for Windows? No, they're not. Audacity uses WAV as the default uncompressed file format because they're managed correctly and open in all three computer platforms. So you still have something seriously wrong. You are urged strongly to sort this out before your Audacity st...

Re: Error -9997 Invalid sample rate (not what it seems)
WASAPI is very fussy, and unfortunately WASAPI drivers are still sometimes buggy, even though WASAPI has been around for years. If it was working easily with the same hardware, then the problem now may be due to an update, but with so many things possibly involved (Windows drivers, ASIO drivers, WA...

First time poster... long time user
Hi Audacity users! I record the IVR messages for my office. We don't have any good places to record. I have tried all sorts of ways to reduce room noise including a box full of sound absorption foam and this is the best I get even after the noise reduction tool. I have read some before I posted this...
