Re: Voice to midi
First, thanks again for answering. I have some other (possibly interesting) questions for this forum... Returning to "voice to midi": Using a simple microphone, Im recording (say) 2 seconds of voice with 8000 Hz rate and 16 bit resolution. Next, I have Fourier transform with (say) 4096 poi...

Finding cntradeshoes
cntradeshoes is the login name of an entity trying to sell shoes on the forum. I left one of their posts alive in Compiling Audacity. The post is clearly visible. Find it. I don't mean find it just by looking, I mean find it with the search tools. No combination of search terms in any of the search ...

Inserting at a specific point within a track
Hi Everyone! I produce a weekly podcast show (http://www.viewfromthecouch.com) and find Audacity does the job nicely, but I have one beef. Just wondering if I'm missing something obvious in the functionality or if there's really no way to do it.... I have the vocals in one track and multiple music t...

Re: How to make an MP3 louder
When you select the "Amplify" effect, the amplification level is automatically set to the maximum you can do without clipping (clipping makes crackling sounds). So unless you're pushing the slider up higher than where it automatically sets itself, I don't know why amplification would intro...

Re: Batch record with Audacity? Multiple prompts !
No, but maybe somebody else will jump in. Not knowing what the original software was puts a serious crimp in the search--especially special purpose software like that.

Re: Will not show Audacity window on Win. XP
"Audacity 3.1.7" ? If you mean 1.3.7, then this is the first time the question has come of for this version (it was fairly frequent with some earlier versions). Search for the file "audacity.cfg" and delete it. Note that it is a "hidden" file, so you need to include hid...

Skipping during playback and record
I am very sad and frustrated. I used to be able to play back audio and record at the same time (with play-thru turned OFF) without any skipping. Now no matter what I try I get skips during recording. My test setup is to import some raw audio, and just start recording. Eventually I hear the audio ski...

Re: Playback delay while recording?
If the delay is in the region of 0.5 seconds, then it due to "software playthrough" as described earlier. If the delay is a much smaller fraction of a second, then this is probably due to "latency". Audacity will automatically apply latency correction, but in Audacity 1.2 this is...

How to record system sound
Hello :) I was wondering if there is a way to do this- record audio from the system (for example, record sound coming from a website) in Audacity. In the wiki, the Mac portion was blank on this topic, so I just wanted to ask here if it is possible. I haven't had any luck finding anything using the s...

Re: Removing wow from recording of a warped LP
Thanks Koz and Steve. I would have been amazed if there were an automated way to do this. I am currently trying to flatten the warped section of the LP by using heavy books. I'm not sure how long I should wait, but I can probably get some advice from an Internet search. I'm not brave enough at this ...
