Search for the file "audacity.cfg" and delete it (on Windows it is a hidden file, so you need to include hidden files in the search). Then restart Audacity. It will now be back to how it was when you first installed it (and you say that when you first installed it you could record, so cro...

Please help! I was recording a set for a radio show and accidentally bumped my Korg Zero8's firewire cable, disconnecting the soundcard. The recording immediately stopped, which is fine, but Audacity is now showing me the full waveform, which looks fine, but not allowing any operations like save or ...

Search for the file audacity.cfg and delete it. This will clear out Audacity's preferences and give it a chance to correctly identify the changes to your system.
The default location is /home/<user>/.audacity/audacity.cfg
(note that ".audacity" is a hidden folder)
