attaching wav file to email
Using Audacity on my previous computer, I made several voice recordings and attached them to email. I recently downloaded Audacity to my new computer, made recordings and saved them both as wav files and mp3 but when I go to attach them, they don't appear on the browse menu for attachment. They are ...

Re: Windows Media Player cannot open wav file to burn to cd
Thanks for the replies guys! I did manage to export seven of nine songs to CD Burner XP. The other two come up with the message "The audio file has an invalid format" How do I export the remaining two songs individually? (Tried a search)

Re: Trying to Remove Vocals . . . Tried Tutorials . . .
Vocal removal doesn't actually work -- or almost never. There is a very long list of things you can do to screw it up. One of the things is to start with a two track mono show, which is what it sounds like you have. The show must be in stereo -- real stereo -- the singer must not have special effect...

Re: Linking audio book files
If you are convinced that Banshee is the answer can you detail how I may achieve my aim and I will follow through on it I'm not "convinced", but I think it is likely and it costs nothing but a little time to try. I've found the best way to learn stuff on Linux is to jump in and try things...

Re: Windows Media Player cannot open wav file to burn to cd
Thanks Koz. Dude, you must be psychic! I did put a date in there. How do I clear Audacity so I can start over again? I'm making a new recording now. EDIT: I answered my own question. I uninstalled and reinstalled. I have many very simple questions, I'll search first, ask questions later. Thanks for ...

Re: newbie on audacity
Sound Layering is certainly possible in Audacity and people do it all the time. However, apparently nobody stopped long enough to write down how they did it. You can search this forum or go down the lists under Tips and Tutorials at the top of this page. I can tell you exact what's happening, but no...

Re: Does ffmpeg feature not work on Mac?
Thank you Josh24 for your post. With your advice, I was able to get farther compiling ffmpeg than with anything I could Google on the web. My situation may be unique in that I am on PPC Tiger 10.4.11. As you can probably tell from my uninformed scatter-shot query, I hit the wall quickly when open-so...

Re: no "invert" in my effect menu
Many if not all of the versions of Audacity have Vocal Removal software either built in or readily available. That's basically what the invert and subtract trick is doing, but in a pre-built effect. You know this never works, right? It fails if the show is two-track mono, if the singer isn't in the ...

Clipping
Hi all, I'm new to this forum but have had a search through the 14 or so pages on the topic of clipping. Anyway, my problem... For 3 or so years, I have been patiently & succesfully ripping my vinyl to digital format using a PC/M-Audio soundcard & Audacity Recently tho, I have upgraded to a ...

Re: Use as a WAV editor
Bye bye Audacity. I thought it could be used as a simple WAV editor. I could have sworn I used to be able to double-click a WAV file, edit it and then save it back to disc. I must be confusing it with an old copy of Sound Forge. My Cubase and Reaper are overkill for what I want to do. So apparently ...
