Re: Problem with Nyquist vocoder
Hi Steve and Vemarkis, @Vemarkis: the comma-issue had been definetly a problem with Nyquist in Audacity 1.3.9 and shold be (theoretically) fixed in the nightly builds. On my self-compiled Ubuntu version the vocoder works again. I would be willing to test your problems on a windows machine at work, b...

Re: Instructions Needed To Record Voice Message
If Skype is running, then that could be the problem. When Skype is closed, it remains active in the task bar (it's still running even when you close the Skype window). Be very sure that Skype is completely closed and shut down before attempting to record. To check that Skype is not running, click on...

Re: Big mistake made by newby!!
I wonder if Windows® tried to move the _data folder to the mounted CD instead of burning a music CD. It's also possible that the _data folder exists on your CD. Don't throw anything out or delete anything until we figure this out.
Do a search for the show name and see if anything turns up.

Re: How To Record Sound
IommiPage, I am not sure what your setup is. What instrument are you recording? Do you know why you are getting feedback ? There are a few tips on recording instruments on the following page: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=Reducing_noise Search for "instrument". Here are some...

Re: Big mistake made by newby!!
If the the project is still extant, what you should have is a project file and a folder of audio and image clips. When you save an Audacity project as <project_name> it creates a number of things 1. a top level master project file called <project_name>.aup 2. a folder at the same filing level called...

Re: Plethora of annoying issues with Audacity- HELP!
When I moved my entire My documents folder over to the external drive last night, for some odd reason all my windows media player files disappeared. They are neither on the new external drive nor in my laptop...this is completely crazy. Without those files I am basically screwed. I tried to do a sea...

Re: Error - sound device problem
Sounds like you need to trash the old 1.2.6 preferences file. Short of finding that file and deleting it (it's in a different location that the one used by 1.3.7), the manual suggests: If you have previously used Audacity 1.2.x, deleting audacity.cfg will roll back those preferences common to 1.2 an...
