Re: Low Level Using Microphone & Lightsnake USB
Thanks to both billw58 and stevethefiddle. I'll check out those preamps. Not only was I given the Lightsnake for free (hard to beat that price!), I didn't even know what it was: No box, no documentation, and there is no lettering of any sort on it! I spotted it after a Google search.

Re: Removing Vocals on Songs
<<<Is there a better way?>>> Probably not. Audacity has a tool called "Center Pan Removal" that does all those steps in one shot. However chances for success are very low. There's a lot of reasons to fail. The show needs to be in Stereo and not Mono. It has to not be an MP3 or other highly...

Re: A Google line for Audacity has been hijacked.
Thank you for the report but the problem is not with Google. Your precise description makes it very easy to reproduce your exact step (I wish everyone was as thorough and precise :) I Googled "audacity forge", and sure enough got the page starting with: Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Reco...

IMA ADPCM can't import
Well what do you know ! I just did a search and found the pretty similar thread IMA ADPCM raw-import button greyed out however I'd be necroposting if I'd continue it as it date back August 2008. I'm also wondering if the advices still apply. I'm using my Casio Exilim EX-V7 (pretty sweet camera for t...

Re: Extracting accompaniment
<<<I'm aware that I can use Audacity to remove the vocals from a song. >>> That may not be reflected in reality. Most of the time that process fails because many conditions must be met at once and they never are. The sound file must be in perfect, uncompressed stereo (that kills most people right th...

Re: Audacity crashed, i can not find the files ---HELP!
Thanks for the reply! I don't think the problem was related to capacity, C drive has 113GB free, E has 35GB free and D has 45GB free. Maybe there was not enough memory, because i had not restarted it for long time. I did export the file as WAV everytime, but this time before i did anything, it had c...

Re: Audio dropping out of finished project
Thanks Bill -- I'm not sure I understand where the .wav should "live" -- does it have to be in the data folder? Wouldn't Audacity program search for the .wav extension associated with the .aup when opening the file? And why would it result in permanent loss to that saved file? Audacity do...

No sound coming through when Monitoring
Hey there,
I click on the mic input level meters and I used to be able to hear what I am recording. For some reason, I cannot do that anymore. Any ideas? I am running Vista. I did try to search this issue, but have not seen anything pertaining to this.
Thanks in advance
