Re: Workflow to take Audacity Projects to AAC in iTunes
I don't use Normalize - as in Audacity that acts on each stereo channel independently and can thus destroy/damage the stereo image. (could be useful though if you have a setup where the L&R signals are not equal). And on that basis I personally do not agree with the advice to Normalize given in ...

Edit the audio in a WMV or FLV video clip?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but a search yielded no direct answer: With Audacity 1.2.6, can I edit the audio of a WMV and/or FLV video recording? Problem I am having is that the original audio source is a telephone conversation. Mainly, the audio level is way too low. Essentially, I'd like t...

Re: No Sound or Record after loading Audacity 1.2.6.
I get sound but it is not audioable. I can see the sound on the top of the main screen with the green and red lines playing but no sound it is distorted. I can click on the start the monitoring but it just noise. I can hear the music on the turnable but the turntable has no speakers on it. So you c...

Re: Jumpy Recording
Windows (and Vista in particular) is notorious for running background processes. For example, if Windows Update starts checking your computer in the middle of your recording it can make a total mess. USB sound cards are particularly susceptible as they depend on the availability of the computers mai...
Re: ERROR!!!
You probably shouldn't publish massive messages until we ask you. The forum isn't that big. <tag name="TITLE" value="..........#x2000; And the very next character in that line is a forbidden character that Audacity doesn't know how to interpret, so the process crashes. On my machine i...

Re: PreSonus Firebox
From a quick Search of the forum that seems to be the case. Try typing Presonus or Firebox into the search box at the top right of the forum window and then click the Search button.hblair wrote: Is this a common problem??

Re: Converting MIDI files to WAV or MP3 files
Given the number of free midi to wav/mp3 converters that are easily available I think it is unnecessary to place adverts for commercial programs unless there is some overriding reason why the commercial program will be of benefit to forum users. This Google search will give well over a million hits:...

Re: Unknown Device ITUT-201SVR USB Turntable Windows 7
1.2.6 is now a very old release and I don't believe that it works well with Windows 7. I recall a number of postings on the forum recommending the latest Beta version 1.3.10 for use with Windows 7. Try searching the forum with the Search function (top right of window) for more insight. You can get 1...

Re: DVD-Audio
"Will a straight DVD with MP3s on it play in your car?" I was thinking of a portable dvd player not a dvd in a cd player. I can hook it up on aux. If my Samsung will play my mp3's then all is go! And here's another epiphany: I can get a mp3 player with eight gigs for about $70-. That might...
