Re: Phone answering machine messages to PC
Yes, local power, but I don't think any of us seriously thinks that's causing most of your troubles. I think you have a defective product or a product with a defective shield. Even in an electrically benign environment, you can cause all kinds of noise by having a broken shield or other bad connecti...

Re: Phone answering machine messages to PC
Let's assume a Magnetic Pickup since that's how most of these machines work. The earpiece in a telephone handset is highly magnetic and it throws off serious sound magnetic fields while it's working. However, magnetic pickups like this also love to pick up Everything Else. Do you have fluorescent l...

Re: Printable Audacity Manual
Writing the manual, FAQ, or instructions is like pushing hot pins in your flesh compared to the joy of programming and product development. So it frequently doesn't get done. We're up for volunteers to collect all the fragments in the Audacity pantheon and publish the book in PDF. Hands? Anyone? ht...

Re: Can't find installed Lame or AAC Lib
Thanks for the instructions, but "the folder cannot be found." Maybe this is a problem with OS 10.6.2. Actually knowing the filename would help me search for it. Who says "folder cannot be found"? Finder? Audacity? Yes, it is possibly a 10.6 problem. I'm running 10.5.8. Perhaps ...
