Re: OSX Compiling

I'm having a horrifically hard time trying to compile under OSX through either the command line or XCode. I had the standard problem of pkg-config not being found and have corrected that, now I'm stuck with the same problem as described by the post http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&a...

Re: how do I know the dB?

MIDI isn't a sound program. MIDI is a music management program, so it's not concerned with sounds so low they only show up on a CalTech Seismometer or so high only dogs can hear them. The fact that Audacity can do these things is, in my opinion, an Audacity shortcoming. So for MIDI to deal with it, ...

Re: six pages of spam - cant find real messages

I feel that informing every genuine first time user (many of whom are probably only going to post once in search of a specific answer) that they are being moderated is worse than a small number of DNSBL blockings. But we could try turning off DNSBL for short periods when we have strong tools in plac...

Missing MP3

Howdy, I've managed to install the LAME software & saved it on the C drive as recommended. I've recorded a song from my record player, saved it as an MP3 file but I cannot locate it. The first time I saved it as an MP3 it searched & found the LAME file where suggested and when I couldn't fin...

Re: cannot import wma files

Make sure you have FFmpeg from http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=FAQ:Installation_and_Plug-Ins#ffdown and installed correctly into C:Program FilesFFmpeg for Audacity. Remove C:Program FilesFFmpeg for Audacity from PATH and reboot. That isn't needed. You may have conflicting versions of ...

Re: Inserting audacity output into video

Thank you Trebor! I will have a try with that. If it doesn't work I will look at Blazemp that promises to do the job. Alfie Blazemp was not mentioned in the thread I suggested. According to this forum's search engine you are the only person who has written "Blazemp" in a post. On that thr...

Re: cant record my guitar through device

do we have a tutorial on direct sound, mme, asio, etc. and when/how/why to chose each ? You cannot choose ASIO unless you have installed the ASIO SDK, compiled Audacity Beta from source code and sworn that you will not distribute that build to anyone else. :) As for what the other choices mean, see...

Re: Help please

Is there a particular file undelete program that you have found to be best in trying to recover these files? Will they all have the .au file extension? Personally I use Recover My Files because it usually maintains the old file structure with the old file and folder names. Also it has native previe...

Re: Karaoke stereo?

There is the overwhelming possibility you're in the wrong Audacity. Modern Macs do not support Audacity 1.2. get 1.3.12 from here. You don't have to take 1.2 out, just stop using it. http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_mac The Center Pan Removal in Audacity produces a mono show. That's just how it...
